Bárbara Soto received her formal degrees in photography and videography at the University Compultense in Madrid, and has been educated around the world. Documenting the extreme youth culture surrounding music festivals, and underground and experimental art spaces, and the effect of the fiscal crisis on this emerging generation of artists, Soto has toured and worked with such American bands as Animal Collective and Black Dice. Her work has been exhibited in galleries from New York to Peru, and published in such magazines as Soma, Clash, and Disparo. Soto has also taught, collaborated on blogs, websites, and printed zines, and currently resides in New York City. Currently Soto is honing her technical skills in analog and digital photographic processes, working as a studio manager for Jason Rothenberg, and writing her PhD thesis.
