Fryd Frydendahl lives in New York where she works within the field of photography and video. Besides her individual practice she is also a part of the performance group ”Birds production, Bird Mitsudahl”, a collaboration with the Japanese artist Megumi Tomomitsu.

 
 
 
Her book, Familiealbum, was published by the Danish Publishing house, Nyt Nordisk Forlag in 2007. The book featured a collection of portraits from “the youth house,” a Danish punk venue that was sadly evicted and demolished in 2007. In 2011 she published the newspaper zine Personal Spam. Most recently her second book The Summer of Yes was published in collaboration with Nyt Nordisk Forlag, 2012. She is the recipient of grants from Fogtdahls Rejsestipendie 2008, The Henry Margolis Foundation, and Josephine Lyons Merit Scholarship 2009. She was a part of the 2011 CCNY fellowship program and The Art Hvide Sande residency. Frydendahl was born on the west coast of Denmark in 1984, graduated from Fatamorgana, the Danish school of art photography in 2006, and received an Advanced Certificate from The International Center of Photography in General Studies in 2009.
