Fryd Frydendahl lives in New York, NY where she works within the field of photography and video. In 2007 The Danish Publishing house, Nyt Nordisk Forlag Arnold Busck, published her book, âFamiliealbumâ; the book featured a collection of portraits from âThe Youth House,â a legendary Danish punk venue that was sadly evicted and demolished in 2007. In 2011 She published the newspaper zine âPersonal Spam.â Her second book "The Summer of Yes" was published in collaboration with Nyt Nordisk Forlag Arnold Busck, in 2012.
She is currently putting the last touches on her new book in collaboration with the Danish artist Halfdan Pisket, Titled âWinterâ and set to be released by the Danish publishing company Gladiator, in November. She is the recipient of grants from Fogtdahls Rejsestipendie 2008, The Henry Margolis Foundation, and the Josephine Lyons Merit Scholarship 2009. She was also a part of the 2011 CCNY fellowship program and The Art Hvide Sande recedency.
Frydendahl was born on the west coast of Denmark in 1984, graduated from Fatamorgana, the Danish school of art photography in 2006, and received an Advanced Certificate from the The International Center of Photography in General Studies in 2009.
