Artist, writer and educator, Janelle Lynch has garnered international recognition over the last decade for her large-format photographs of the urban and rural landscape. Widely exhibited, her work is in several public and private collections. Her River series is currently on view at the Newark Museum until Spring 2013 and in January 2013, an exhibition of her work from the last decade will open at the Southeast Museum of Photography. Los Jardines de México, Lynch’s first monograph, was published by Radius Books, Santa Fe, in 2011. A book of her work from Barcelona is forthcoming by Radius in 2013. Lynch has written freelance in Spain and the US about art, including profiles, book reviews and exhibitions, and was recently the Guest Editor of the June issue of Loupe.

She holds an MFA in Photography and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts and a BA in Liberal Arts with a Creative Writing minor from the New School. She currently teaches at the International Center of Photography and is a Fellow at the CUNY Graduate Center’s Writers’ Institute. After seven years abroad, she now lives between the West Village and the Catskill Mountains.
